The Appeal
The Ford Jennings Road Ranger is a rare and characterful motorhome conversion based on the MK1 Ford Transit, coach built by Jennings of Sandbach. Surviving examples in this configuration are few and far between, making any that surface a notable find for classic campervan enthusiasts.
This 1975 example, body number 201, has been in the current owner's care since 2018 and has been put to proper use, with trips to Goodwood, Arundel, Glastonbury, and the Isle of Man among its adventures. During that time, investment has been made in both the cab and the living quarters, with cosmetic, mechanical, and electrical work carried out as detailed below. The later 2.5-litre diesel engine is said by the vendor to fire up first time and run well.
The vendor tells us it always attracts attention wherever it goes. This Road Ranger is offered with a history file containing receipts for previous work, along with all original parts removed over the years, useful for any future custodian wishing to return the vehicle closer to its original specification.
