The Appeal
It’s the ‘supercar killer’ that is rarer than most boutique hypercars. Just 673 of Toyota’s brutally capable MkIV Supra were sent to Europe, of which just 297 are believed to be 326bhp twin turbo models like this one. The vendor suggests only half of those survive.
The UK market cars are notable for their bespoke specification, including rear differential cooler, headlight washers, glass headlights, bigger differential and driveshaft, upgraded double piston brakes and, of course, that big bonnet scoop.
The temptation by owners to make their Supras go faster and look more brutal makes this factory-standard, unmodified car even rarer still. Looking at it, you wonder why anyone would bother improving a car that Toyota’s engineers had already perfected.
20% of MkIV Supras got the popular Astral Black finish of this car. It looks magnificent, a useful reminder that factory standard is often best. The knowledgeable enthusiast vendor acquired it in 2021 and has lavished it with care, applying what he calls a ‘no expense spared’ approach. Alongside sparing use to preserve the low mileage, he has sourced a raft of OEM parts, such as glass headlights, to enhance the look.
The maintenance history is equally fastidious, showing a full run of Toyota main dealer servicing to 98,921 miles in 2020. The car has only covered 500 miles since. It carries MOT to July 2026 with no advisories.
This is a collector-quality example of a viscerally exciting 90s supercar.
The vendor says:
“The Toyota Supra Twin Turbocharged JZA80(R) UK Specification represents the pinnacle of Toyota's 1990s engineering prowess. These UK-spec models were built to be the highest specification Supras ever produced, featuring numerous upgrades over their Japanese counterparts, including rear differential coolers, glass headlights with washers, larger differentials, double piston brakes, and a bonnet scoop with snorkel for improved cooling.
“This particular 1994 example is one of just 297 ever sold in the UK, with reportedly fewer than half still surviving today. What makes this Supra especially desirable is its completely standard, unmolested condition - even retaining its original wheels - combined with comprehensive dealer servicing throughout its life and recent significant maintenance.
“Absolutely NO money spared to keep this example maintained in a prestigious condition mechanically, electrically or in any other aspect of this example!!
“Even at a premium cost sourced & imported from Tokyo Japan (almost an impossible task nowadays with these items being discontinued many years ago!!), a brand new gear shifter and under bonnet ' heat shield cover ' designed specifically for the UK Spec Model taking into account the OEM bonnet scoop opening - another example of attention to details and the cherished preservation of this rare example UK Specs JZA80(R) high performance potential ' Super Car Killer!! ', if one is so inclined to do so.
“However, in my humble opinion, keeping it factory standard in all respects will surely keep it's rarity, mystique and value stronger in a world where some have been modified soo much to the extent that they have even become almost unrecognisable!”
