The Appeal
In 1988, British Aerospace acquired the Rover Group for £150 million. They got straight on with an idea that had been fermenting in the Rover bods' minds for some time - a smaller SUV that was more accessible and straightforward for the changing market. It remained every bit as rugged, capable and durable as a Land Rover should be.
This 1999 Freelander S-Wagon represents an increasingly rare example of the first-generation model in well-preserved condition. Purchased directly from the original owner (a friend of the current seller) and having been well-maintained throughout its life, it's an utterly fine car. With expert upgrades to the K series engine and a comprehensive maintenance record, it's ready and waiting to go.
