The Appeal
Developed as a collaboration between Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz, the Crossfire was a two-seat sports car built on the platform of the Mercedes-Benz SLK and assembled in Germany offered in both coupe and convertible form.
Under the hood, the Crossfire boasts a 3.2-litre V6 engine generating 215 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. Buyers could choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic. With a top speed of 155 mph and a 0–60 mph time of 6.5 seconds, impressive performance for its time.
To sell the Crossfire, Chrysler dealers were required to dedicate premium showroom space and offer VIP servicing for customers, as the sports coupé and cabriolet were positioned firmly as high-end models. The Crossfire also had significantly better build quality than most American cars likely due to its production under licence in Germany by coachbuilder Karmann, with each vehicle finished by hand. Around 2,500 were sold in the UK between 2003 and 2007, making it quite a rare car.

Reception was mixed; while many praised its bold styling and capable performance, others noted the car’s limited practicality and tight interior space. Sales were modest, leading to its discontinuation after just four years. Still, the Crossfire has since gained a cult following, appreciated for its distinctive design and German engineering - attributes that have elevated its near-collector status.
Its eye-catching fastback silhouette, aggressive stance, and staggered wheel setup give the Crossfire unmistakable visual presence. The naturally aspirated V6 provides a thrilling drive, providing the driver with an engaging, tactile experience with sharp handling and a refined chassis inherited from Mercedes-Benz.
Finished in arguably the best colour and presenting in beautiful condition, this particular example combines shark-like aesthetics with exceptionally low mileage, and just the one owner from new, it's a rare find that edges confidently into collector territory—especially for anyone who's long had an itch to own one.
