This is one of the very last of the flagship 2002 Tii models produced by BMW in 1974 before the arrival of the 3 series model later that year. It must also be one of the finest examples of its type for it remains incredibly good and largely original throughout with only 94, 000km completed in the hands of just three owners from new.
There is a long tradition of very good original lightly used cars emerging from Italy and this is just such a scenario. This 2002 was purchased when new by the first owner from the BMW dealership in Milan. He clearly loved his BMW as he kept it until 2018 and clearly looked after it very carefully and drove it sparingly. It is very original in all respects, unrestored and never welded with original paint on the roof and bonnet. The rest of the car was repainted to a very high standard ten years ago, all of the paint matches, all in all the car appears as it would have done when only 2-3 years old. The engine, the original unit was overhauled at 81, 000km and the car drives just beautifully and remains quick with a glorious tightness and fluidity only ever found in low mileage unmolested original cars that have not been apart.
In 2018 the car passed to Germany and received a major check and service by a well-known BMW Classic Specialist in Munich following which a new German TÜV was issued without any technical defects found.
The last owner, a UK enthusiast who will only ever entertain very original low mileage examples in the best condition purchased the 2002 from a well-regarded German specialist. Since then it has been enjoyed sparingly in fine weather and has been maintained regardless of cost with any defect being immediately dealt with as detailed in invoicing on file.
This is exactly the 2002 you hope to find but very rarely do. Finished in the original lovely colour of Fjord Blue with dark blue interior it comes with original books and tools, first black Milano number plates, all original Italian registration documentation, service invoices and correspondence.
