The Plus

The XK150 is the final version of one of the most beautiful cars ever built, and the OTS is its purest iteration. These magnificent cars are made both to be part of a collection and for regular use, especially when they benefit from appreciable improvements, as is the case here.

The car was sold new in the US with the first owner believed to be pottery pioneer Charles Counts. It returned to the UK in 2013 when a full three-year restoration began, covering the body, mechanicals and transmission. The bill for the parts alone was £51,000 (€61,630).

The engine was completely rebuilt and specialists such as Souther Axle Services and Aldridge Trimming were involved in the detail work. The Monaco-based seller acquired the car in June 2023 and commissioned Prestige Motors of Vence, France, to carry out a wide range of refurbishment and improvement work. This included the installation of power steering, improvements to the braking system, improved cooling, the correction of minor oil leaks, new classic Vredestein tyres, refurbished dials and a ceramic paint treatment.

Naturally, the car looks absolutely stunning, whether you admire the red paintwork, the leather interior or the extensively refurbished chrome. No wonder that in June 2024, an independent inspection awarded the car its highest rating for overall condition.

The car is configured for some classic car events and the vendor has completed several 800km long journeys with no problems. For those looking for an XK150 that could be admired as much as used, look no further.

"During my period of ownership the car has been used regularly for short journeys and also for a couple of long road trips of over 800km each. The car has proved very reliable and is a real pleasure to own, with no problems requiring attention."

Such is the condition of the car, which is testament to the care of its current and previous owners. The work has covered every aspect of the car and has been documented with high-end suppliers such as MWS for the wheels and Aldridge Trimming for the black leather interior.

The Jaguar OTS was built to look good, and to travel long distances, two qualities that make it perfect for events and modern classic touring. The car has been carefully developed for such a role with improvements to the cooling, braking and suspension systems as well as the installation of speed-sensitive power steering. These improvements are in addition to the mechanics and transmission, which were completely refurbished during the three-year restoration in the UK. This work included a rebuild of the engine.

We are told that the car remains a matching numbers example, which is confirmed by the JDHT certificate. The car is reported to be in very good condition and has recently been checked for Monaco Technical Control and Valuation Inspection. This resulted in a refurbishment with removal of the engine to replace seals and improve small oil leaks. The vendor has used the car regularly for long and short journeys of up to 800km, journeys which he says have been both very pleasant and extremely reliable.
