The Appeal
Ask AI to draw a picture of a classic ‘50s British sports car, and chances are it’ll send back the profile of an MGA. Such is the car’s central role in the classic world that few cars of the era are better serviced by clubs, specialists and parts suppliers. That makes them extremely easy to own for roadsters that are now approaching their 70th birthdays.
This early 1958 1500 is a very pretty example in British Brooklyn Green with retrimmed cream leather cabin. It began life as a North American LHD export car, before returning to the UK in 1990 and being converted to RHD. The large history file indicates that it received a significant number of new parts across the mechanicals and interior trim. Highlights include new callipers, clutch master and slave cylinders and brake parts.
The owner acquired the car in 2025 and tells us that it has been serviced recently. It also received a new sump gasket and fuel sender. This is a really tidy early A that is said to drive well too.
The vendor says:
“Overall, in very good condition, it looks and feels very good and is a joy to drive.”
