Highlights
- In current ownership for approximately 20 years
- Vendor’s father rode a Mch 1 in the Milan-Taranto race
- Highly regarded and sought-after Ducati single-cylinder models
- Beautifully presented and factory correct Mach 1
- ACI and ASI certification, including Targa Oro
The Appeal
The Mach 1 is proof that good things come in small packages. With less than 30hp available from its 249cc single-cylinder engine, this featherweight flyer was good for 100mph. No wonder many riders converted them for race use, including the vendor’s father who raced one in the famous Milan-Taranto competition.
The vendor tells us that he acquired this much-historied 1965 Mach 1 in 2006 to join his collection. It has been sparingly used since and presents in extremely good condition. The original features include the red and silver paintwork and bright chromework. It is fitted with Ceriani rims and its original tacho. Some other minor features, such as the front hub, have been modified, but the original parts are included.
The bike has been ridden recently but is said to require a service if the buyer wishes to hit the road. There is time for all that, of course - in the meantime, the buyer can enjoy admiring one of the prettiest Ducatis of the post-war era.
