The Appeal
The angular, straightforward Daytona was the work of the legendary Brooks Stevens, and the man's fingerprints remained on the car for every iteration thereafter. Taking more a gentle influence from the company's European contemporaries, this was the most 'traditional' looking Stude the company had released since the heady days of the 1940s.
By 1965, production had left the legendary South Bend plant to one in Ontario, and the company's fortunes were failing. Loyalty meant a lot in these increasingly competitive days, and the Daytona would become one of the final models to carry the illustrious nameplate. To this day, they're prized for impressive levels of interior space and top-notch handling.

A right-hand drive example is a particularly uncommon find, likely built for or adapted to the South African market, where Studebaker maintained a modest but devoted following.
This Daytona is finished in white and powered by a 4,600cc petrol engine mated to a four-speed with overdrive manual gearbox. Cars like this seldom come to market, particularly in this specification, and a good example is increasingly rare. We expect this right-hand drive Studebaker will, as a result, garner plenty of interest.
