The Appeal
Here’s one for the practical enthusiast and modifier. This 1966 ‘Amazon’ has recently been rescued from a barn where it has been since 1992. Largely complete and with an engine that turns over, it is a great candidate for restoration. That project could go in virtually any direction - factory standard, lightly modified, rally candidate or proper restomod.
We are told that the car was owned for many years by a reputable Canary Islands surgeon. It is in poor condition but everything is there for a restoration project. It is fitted with the B18 1.8L engine. The vendor tells us that the engine started recently when fuel was added directly to the carburettor.
We love a project and this one looks interesting and the opportunity for some creative thinking.
The vendor says:
“An old Nordic brick that deserves to be restored. Its unique character allows it to be converted into a violent Gasser, swapped to more modern Volvo turbo blocks, or kept in its original harmony.”
