The 1600-2 is the car that launched BMW's legendary '02 series, establishing BMW's reputation for driver-focused compact sedans. Combining a spirited four-cylinder engine with nimble handling and a practical two-door body, it created a formula that would define the brand for decades to come.

This 1968 example has passed through only three registered owners and has been garaged in dry storage since 2010. In 2022, it underwent a comprehensive restoration covering the bodywork, paint, and interior, with the engine benefiting from a Redline (USA) supercharger kit. Accompanying the car is a documentation file including manufacturer maintenance records and invoices covering much of its life.
