The Appeal
The chrome-bumper MGB Roadster remains one of the most desirable British sports cars of its era, and the earlier models produced before the introduction of rubber bumpers in 1974 are especially sought after for their clean, uncluttered lines. This 1970 example has been comprehensively restored, headlined by a bare metal respray in British Racing Green carried out in 2022. The interior has been fully renewed with new leather seats, carpets, a new hood and frame, and a tonneau cover, while chromed wire wheels and a chrome luggage rack are fitted.
Mechanically, the car benefits from electronic ignition, a new fuel pump, and a Kenlowe electric fan. This handsome car was last serviced and tuned in November 2025. Now, the car is ready and waiting for its lucky new keeper.
The vendor adds:
"On buying this car in York I immediately drove to Dorset via the MGOC workshop in Cambridge where it was declared sound, with only a few minor issues that have since been rectified. The car didn't miss a beat. Under my ownership it has been serviced and Waxoyled.
I've done a couple of weekend tours, with no problems, and complete confidence. A real head turner. Overdrive works perfectly. All work (above) under my ownership (since 2023) was carried out by a specialist MG professional, and his invoices are included in the very extensive document file which goes back to 1985."
