The Appeal
The 911 2.4T represents the final evolution of the first-generation 911, featuring the larger 2.4-litre engine and refined handling characteristics that made these early F-series models highly sought after by enthusiasts.
This 1973 model-year base-spec 'T' stands out for its remarkable provenance, having remained with the same family since 1980 and retaining its original Italian registration from Rome. Presented in its factory-correct Light Ivory paintwork over black leatherette interior, this 911 offers the increasingly rare opportunity to acquire a matching numbers example with comprehensive documentation and maintenance history.
The car retains its period-correct features, including the comfort package and original 15-inch Fuchs alloy wheels.

The Mechanics
- 2.4-litre flat-six (carbureted)
- Five-speed manual transmission
- Recent oil and filter service (1,000 km/two months ago)
- Reportedly drives well with smooth gear shifts and proper clutch function
- Engine reportedly accelerates smoothly with no smoke from the exhaust
- Minor oil leak from left valve cover when engine is warm
- Produces pleasant flat-six sound with responsive acceleration
- Described as extremely fun to drive on winding roads, handles heavy traffic without issues
The 'T' was the most basic and paired-back of the original 911s, featuring old-school carburettors versus the mechanical fuel injection (MFI) system fitted to 'E', 'S' and US/Asia market 'T's. This means it's closer to the feel of earlier Porsches. We're informed that this car was recently driven from Rome to Milan and back with no issues and minimal oil consumption.
