The Appeal
A classic Beetle always stands out, but a Texas Yellow Beetle really stands out. And surely, when you’re investing in Volkswagen’s highly usable classic, that’s exactly what you want?
This lovely 1973 1303 received an extensive, high quality restoration around 10 years ago. That it remains in such good order is down to long term storage, to 2020, and then the caring attention of the current keeper. When it was auctioned by Mathewsons of Bangers & Cash fame in 2020 they waxed lyrical about its quality, and the photos today suggest the same condition.
Since acquiring the car the vendor has used it sparingly but serviced it regularly. Other work has included new battery and fuel pump, distributor cap and rotor arm, fuel lines, vacuum pipes, sump drain plug and filter and new spark plugs. The tappets have also been adjusted.
In great condition and with the added appeal of being MOT, tax and ULEZ exempt, this is a stand-out example of these charismatic classics.
The vendor says:
“This Beetle gets admiring looks wherever I go and is so inexpensive to run. It’s colour makes it stand out at shows and will have many admirers.”
