5.7-litre V8 paired with a three-speed automatic gearbox
Appears to be very close to its original condition
Fibre-glass bodywork claimed to be sound, with no structural defects
Several major mechanical components recently replaced
A real heart-stopper
Without a doubt one of the most iconic sports cars in history, the third-generation Corvette owes its reputation to its “Coca-Cola bottle” silhouette, its very low driving position and an interior inspired by the cockpit of a fighter jet. This particular example, one of the last to receive a chrome rear bumper, is a fine snapshot of a generation that’s especially appreciated by collectors and still retains a great deal of its originality.
Imported into France in the 2000s, this Corvette benefited from several mechanical interventions, including work on the fuel delivery circuit, the braking system and the ignition. The seller states that it starts easily and runs correctly, while delivering the distinctive V8 rumble that has done so much to build the model’s reputation.
Offered in a very usable specification, it should appeal to both Corvette enthusiasts and fans of American sports cars at this sale.DSC01852 HALBEDEL DENIS.JPG9.41 MB
Imported into France in the 2000s, with a recommissioning carried out during that period.
The fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, wheel cylinders, the servo brake (Mastervac) and the brake distribution valve have been replaced.
An engine overhaul has been carried out. However, the seller notes that an engine oil change, along with replacement of the oil filter, should be planned.
The paintwork was redone in 2021, but it currently shows a few blisters. Three older repaired areas have also become visible again.
Originally delivered in orange, the car was then resprayed in bordeaux, and finally in its current black colour.
The upholstery is presented in relatively good condition, but would benefit from a thorough clean.
The steering wheel and floor mats are said to be in good condition.
Some work still remains to be done on certain interior plastics and various trim/finsihing elements.
A ventilation air vent is missing.
The clock is inoperative.
The interior rear-view mirror is described as old, showing signs of wear.
Some play is reported in the steering, which the seller attributes to the recDSC01880 HALBEDEL DENIS.JPG8.63 MBommendation of the steering gear box on ball bearings.
