The Appeal
The Jensen-Healey occupies a unique niche among 1970s roadsters, pairing traditional British open-top motoring with a Lotus 907-series twin-cam engine, a powertrain that lends it a sporting character quite unlike its MG and Triumph contemporaries. Relatively few survive today, and well-sorted examples are increasingly sought after by enthusiasts who appreciate this distinctive Anglo-Lotus formula.
This 1974 example was first registered in Switzerland and acquired by the current owner at auction in Berne in 2010. It was subsequently imported to France in 2018 and stored in specialist conditions before undergoing a substantial programme of work in 2024, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and bodywork items detailed below.
The car presents well for its age, with the vendor rating both the paintwork and mechanical condition as very good. The interior shows age-commensurate patina, with a tear noted on the driver's seat base and some dashboard wear, though it remains complete and functional. The soft top is showing its age, but the inclusion of a hard top adds welcome year-round versatility. Prospective buyers should note that third gear can occasionally jump out. With matching serial numbers and a contrôle technique valid until June 2026, this Jensen-Healey is well placed for its next chapter.
