Finished in Sahara Beige, an uncommon color for the 911
Engine and gearbox both overhauled
Targa top restored with new canvas
Resprayed in the original color approximately six years ago
The Appeal
The 1974 Porsche 911 S Targa is among the most sought-after of the early impact-bumper 911s. Combining the mechanical Bosch fuel injection of the 2.7-liter flat-six with the open-air versatility of the Targa roof, the S specification made the 911 S Targa something very special indeed.
This example was resprayed in its original Sahara Beige approximately six years ago. The interior retains its original seats and a period radio, whilst new carpets have been fitted. Mechanically, both the engine and gearbox have been overhauled, and the vendor reports good oil pressure, no major leaks, and that braking performance is strong following the fitment of new calipers. There is a small area of corrosion noted under the left headlight, but overall this 911 S Targa presents an appealing prospect for the air-cooled Porsche enthusiast.image.png1.54 MB
