The Appeal
The world of rarified four seat GT cars got a boost when Rolls-Royce launched the Corniche Saloon. This handsome two-door coupe took what was great about the Silver Shadow - the looks, the ride, the utter sense of occasion - and turned it into something even better.
A little over 1,000 Saloons were built, which makes these cars very rare. With large boots, spacious four-seat cabins and big, sumptuous seats, these cars are perfect for classic car tours and events.
This pretty dark green over tan 1974 car is one of the best we’ve seen in a while. To give you a sense of its quality, the previous keeper was a committee member of the Netherlands Rolls Royce & Bentley Club. He kept it for 26 years, contributing significantly to the vast history file that now spans over 100 pages.
Recent work has included door and window rubbers, valve cover gaskets to both sides, a service with oil and filter change and hydraulic fluid and brake fluid change. In 2021 new springs/shock absorbers were fitted along with six new brake callipers and hoses. We are told that the car has always been garaged and not used on salt roads or in the rain, except on a few unavoidable occasions.
The vendor acquired the car two years ago and has continued to the fastidious approach of previous keepers. Highlights of his ownership include a fuss-free trip to North Wales during which the car is reported to have performed faultlessly.
In great condition, this characterful car does have some light, cosmetic points to note in the photos, but they do not detract from its imperial majesty.

- Tan seats piped in cream to front and rear with well kept leather showing light patina
- Interior is said to be original and therefore buyers should expect light signs of use
