The Appeal
The so-called "baby Ferrari", the mid-engined Fiat X1/9 is among the most well-regarded four-cylinder sports cars of the twentieth century. They truly are excellent to drive. Sadly, many have succumbed to the corrosion that plagues most Italian cars of this era, but not so this right-hand drive South African example which has now been imported to Ireland.
With recent maintenance including a new brake master cylinder and battery, this X/19 is reportedly ready to be driven and enjoyed. It presents superbly with its resprayed bodywork and offers an opportunity for further restoration if desired.
The vendor tells us:
"I bought this car 2 years ago from the previous owner who had imported it from South Africa. Since then I have replaced the brake master cylinder, the battery and have sourced an original car jack and full-size spare wheel
"This is a good basic classic that can be used and enjoyed right away. It is in fair condition but would need money spent to bring it up good/show car condition. This was my plan but it's hard to find the expertise and parts needed in Ireland."Front.jpg2.81 MB
