The Appeal
The 928 is one of the greatest GT cars of the last 50 years. If it wasn’t for the 911, its light would shine even brighter. Voted ‘Car of the Year’ when new, it is a distinctive, stylish and utterly capable long distance cruiser.
Most of the remaining survivors are later ‘S4’ cars, which makes this early, purer ‘79 very interesting. Its Minerva Blue paintwork, ‘Pasha’ fabric and Cork leather interior and those classic ‘Teledials’ are all reminders why these early cars are so appealing.
The vendor is a 928 specialist and has recently completed a £11,000 recommissioning. The work included a full glass-out respray and an array of detail improvements to trim and electrics. Mechanical work included a cambelt and water pump change, new fuel pump, a/c re-gas, full service and a gearbox service.
With the transparency of a current, advisory-free and voluntary MOT to April 2026 and all that recent work, this is a ‘turn key’ early 928 that we think will appeal to collectors.
