The Appeal
The W123 is widely regarded as one of Mercedes-Benz's most robust and dependable saloons, built during an era when the marque's engineering philosophy prioritised longevity above all else. The 200 automatic offers relaxed, unhurried motoring with a mechanical simplicity that makes it both rewarding to drive and straightforward to maintain.
This example has spent the majority of its life in South Africa, where the dry, salt-free climate has been kind to the bodywork. Registered with the DVLA in April 2024, it has reportedly not been driven on British roads during winter. Finished in cream over a tan leather interior with a black dash top and wood inlays, it cuts a handsome figure on its cream and chrome 14-inch wheels.
