The Appeal
The E30 325i Cabriolet remains one of the most sought-after open-top BMWs of the 1980s, perfectly balanced - a dynamic and driver-focused machine, pairing the characterful M20 inline-six with the clean, purposeful lines of the E30 in drop-top form. This Alpine white example is a well-specified car from new, featuring factory-fitted leather seats and an M-tech steering wheel.
It has been in the hands of its current keeper since 2004 - some 22 years - during which time it has been consistently garaged and kept out of the rain, both at the owner's home in the UK and at a holiday property in Normandy, where it was registered and used for approximately 18 years. A new mohair soft top with bracing straps was professionally fitted just weeks ago at a cost of £1,500 and remains under warranty.
Recent mechanical work includes a cambelt change, a cooling system overhaul with a new radiator, and a service covering oil, filters, and plugs. The vendor reports that the bodywork presents well, with only minor stone chips and a tiny area of corrosion on the inner nearside rear arch noted as the sole evidence of rust. A folder of receipts accompanies the car, along with the original German registration document and French MOT records. Now that the owner has retired, the car is ready and waiting for a more regular driver.image.png1.35 MB
