The Appeal
The M491 Turbo-Look 911 Cabriolet is among the most coveted variants of the air-cooled era. Combining the wide-arched bodywork, uprated suspension and braking hardware of the 930 Turbo with the sweet-revving, naturally aspirated 3.2-liter flat-six, it offered the best of both worlds, and Porsche produced relatively few of them, making survivors highly sought after today.
This 1986 example is finished in Grand Prix White (L908) over a black full-leather interior, a pairing that shows off the Turbo-Look's flared arches and whale-tail spoiler to great effect. Originally delivered new to Colorado, it was comprehensively restored, including a complete engine overhaul, before being acquired by its current owner in 2018. Matching numbers and matching colors are confirmed by a Porsche certificate, and the car is further supported by FIVA documents, a CarFax report and a US title. It has recently been converted from US to EU specification, including headlights and removal of the rear US brake light. The vendor states the car is in very good overall condition. For collectors and enthusiasts of air-cooled Porsches, this is an opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable 911 variants of the 1980s.
