The Appeal
BMW’s Z1 needs no introduction for enthusiasts: produced in limited numbers between 1989 and 1991, its vertically folding doors, galvanised monocoque chassis and removable thermoplastic body panels have made it one of the most technically audacious roadsters of its era; undoubtedly one of the most interesting BMWs there is. Even rarer are those equipped with the Wiesmann fixed roof, of which only 500 were produced — turning the Z1 into a year-round usable proposition with a distinctive coupe silhouette.
This 1990 example is one of those cars, and it goes even further. Benefitting from a full Wiesmann engine programme — a €14,900 package increasing displacement to 2,926 cm³ and power to 210 hp — it isn’t slow; a genuine power upgrade over the base car. A sport exhaust and Hartge wheels complete a tasteful spec, all wrapped in a dark green-on-black colour scheme that the seller describes as bright and deep.
Originally from Germany, the car has been consistently maintained at BMW throughout its life, with invoices to confirm. Recent work includes the replacement of the timing belt in October 2024 and an oil change in September 2025. Registered on a French Carte Grise de Collection and with a technical inspection valid until October 2030, it’s a fine car ready and waiting for its happy new owner.

Undoubtedly one of the most distinctive vehicles ever produced by BMW, the Z1 immediately catches the eye — a clean, minimalist silhouette with vertically opening doors and removable thermoplastic panels. This one retains all of that in good order. The colour scheme is pleasant, deep and well maintained, with only light signs of wear.
The same applies to the interior, which shows light wear appropriate to its age but overall seems very original. It’s a nice place for driver and passenger alike.

The seller states the car drives very well
The Z1 from BMW already boasted sharp performance, but the Wiesmann-tuned version is on another level. Produced in limited numbers, it raises power to 210 hp from 168 hp in the base car. It emits a throaty, lively engine note that is sure to wake up even the most jaded drivers.
With recent investment and a long technical inspection, this lovely car is ready and waiting for its happy new owner — who will surely find it very rewarding. IMG_7143 Antoine Bery.jpeg3.24 MB
