The Appeal
Undoubtedly one of the most iconic cars of all time, the Mini remained in production for more than four decades, with only iterative changes ensuring that its style, character and charm remained undiminished throughout its lifetime. As well as beyond cute and practical, it was also great fun to drive, and its handling ability was proven on racetracks of the world, where the little car enjoyed enormous success.
This is a 1990 example of the more generously specified Mini Mayfair, registered in 1991, and one of the very last to be fitted with the 1.0-litre A-series engine.
The seller bought the car in 2013 and has always stored it in a garage. In 2023, the exterior was given new wings, scuttle panel and A-panels, and then resprayed. The seller notes that there are two small dents on the front bumper, and there is some rust coming through, primarily on the seams. The underside is reported to be sound, with some rust on the rear subframe.
The silver paintwork of the car is bright, and offset by a cream roof. The chromed Minilite-style wheels and new tyres were put on the car in July 2025.
The grey cloth interior is highly original, and the seller states that everything is in working order. Some age-related sagging and marks, and a rip on the driver’s seat, can be seen.
Since their purchase in 2013, the seller has regularly serviced the car, and reports that the car is reliable and drives well, and has an efficient heater. The engine bay is very tidy.
This is a charming example of the classic Mini, that will put a smile on the face of its new owner, their passengers and anyone who encounters it.
