The Appeal
The GTA pushed Renault-Alpine’s rear-drive sports formula into a new era, one where comfort and practicality were as important as agility and performance. Crisply styled by Yves Legal with a slippery 0.28Cd drag coefficient, these were cars with few obvious rivals.
Expensive and largely hand-built at the historic Alpine factory in Dieppe, just 1,509 GTA V6 GTs were built and this bright red example is one of the very last. Now fitted with desirable RHD, it sports an older respray in great order and a nicely preserved black velour interior that benefits from an array of recent improvements.
The vendor tells us that he bought the car from its long-term keeper in 2021 after a lengthy period of dry storage under the previous keeper. The engine was rebuilt in 2006 and has covered only a few thousand miles since. Further work since 2021 has included carburettor conversion, gearbox overhaul, fuel system work, and steering rack replacement, among other items. Underneath, the chassis and subframe are reported to be rust-free. The vendor states it drives with plenty of performance and composure. With its fibreglass body, which is resistant to rust, and a well-sorted mechanical specification, plus that RHD layout, this GTA presents an appealing opportunity. It carries MOT to May 2027 with no advisories.
The vendor says:
“The vehicle drives very well and always surprises me how enjoyable it is to drive. It handles well, is comfortable, and has plenty of performance. The brakes, although no ABS, are very good and match the performance. And it looks good and always gets attention. After nearly 5 years of ownership and having too many car projects, it has to go to make space.”

Would you be willing to assist with exporting the car?

It does I guess depend on what is required and to what country. I would be happy interfacing with your shipping agent , with all shipping costs covered by you. Within reason delivering the car to a location for example. Best regards.
