The Appeal

The Ducati 916 SP stands among the most coveted homologation specials of the 1990s. To that generation, they are the superbike. With only 401 examples produced, the SP elevated the already iconic 916 platform with upgraded specifications, and today these machines are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.

This UK-registered example has quite the story to tell. Stolen shortly after its original sale in 1995, it was recovered approximately 18 months later and subsequently rebuilt by Woods Ducati, a respected marque specialist. It was then acquired by a collector in 2000, who kept the bike between Wales, the Isle of Man and France, before the current owner purchased it in 2020. A spare kilometre clock and an old Manx registration document are included as a result of its time on the island.
