The Appeal
While we love the V12’s turbine-like smoothness, for long-distance or everyday driving—exactly the sort of task the XJS is ideally suited to—the 4L straight-six is spot on. Extremely reliable and fitted with the 4-speed auto gearbox, these comfortable cars make short work of any trip.
Enthusiasts will already know that this 1995 4L coupe is also one of the later facelift cars, benefiting from more durable galvanised bodies. Along with those aesthetic and structural upgrades, the interior was also revised and improved in quality.
The Sapphire Blue car has been cherished in recent years by Jaguar enthusiasts. Alongside regular servicing, recent work has included a new OEM radiator, radius arms, fresh headlining, and a full set of quality Avon tyres fitted all round. Its condition is backed up by a lengthy MOT history showing no advisories.
Few modern classics tick every box quite like a good XJS—and as the photos show, this one certainly does.
The vendor says:
“My second XJS and first automatic. I've always loved the looks, the stance, the comfort, the understated power and refinement. The true Gentleman's Grand Tourer with a sizeable boot for all of my wife's luggage! The best color combination of Sapphire blue and creme leather. Always a head turner with many compliments and admiring glances. A pleasure to own and its only a house move and downsizing of my small collection that is prompting sale. Insurance valuation £12500.”
