The appeal

The Triumph Thunderbird 900 marks the Hinckley factory’s successful return to building proper British motorcycles in the 1990s. With its character powered by a triple-cylinder engine and classic styling, the Thunderbird offered a compelling alternative to the Japanese cruiser market while retaining a distinctly British identity. At a time when nostalgia was starting to dominate, the timing was perfect, and they have never been as popular.

This 1997 example was acquired in 2021 from a private collection renowned for its quality and subsequently benefited from professional restoration. The work was thorough, including a complete rebuild of the carburettors with ultrasonic cleaning, new electrical components, rebuilt brake calipers, and many other mechanical refreshes. The motorcycle has been elegantly customised with a unique white finish, wider handlebars, a lower seat, and special exhausts. Full dealer invoices from Triumph Paris Italy document the restoration work, and the seller notes that the bike presents well and runs correctly.
