The Appeal
Japan’s tightly packed cities and lack of parking bred ingenuity in the form of its compact kei cars. Built to fit restrictive engine and dimension rules, these tiny cars are cleverly shrunken versions of bigger models and have a huge following here in the UK.
As the photos show, Mitsubishi’s Pajero Mini is a marvel of modern packaging. It looks much like its Shogun siblings, yet it is short, narrow and equipped with a 660cc engine. This version is the 65bhp Turbo, so it has decent performance thanks to its low weight and size. It was first registered in Japan in 1999 before arriving in the UK in 2010. The silver paintwork and blue fabric interior present really well, showing few signs of use considering its utility purpose and age.
The mileage is a low 91,000 miles (146,000 km) and the history file shows regular recent servicing. The last service included a cambelt change and was 3,000 km ago in 2024. In the same year it was fitted with a stainless steel exhaust. The current MOT runs to July 2027 with advisories to note
For those seeking something genuinely different on UK roads, this Pajero Mini presents an appealing opportunity.
