The Appeal
Toyota's third-generation MR2 distilled the mid-engined sports car formula into a compact, agile package. With its eager handling and lightweight construction, the W20 remains one of the most rewarding driver's cars of its era. Throw in a Targa top and you could argue it's a modern classic that ticks all of the boxes.
This 2000 example - a desirable Rev 5 car, notable for its unique spoiler and lowest production numbers - comes with an extensive service history that includes numerous Toyota dealer stamps through the 2010s, along with original manuals and wiring guides. Since acquiring the car in May 2025, the vendor has invested in a thorough mechanical overhaul: a new clutch was fitted at 97,300 miles, alongside a new aluminium radiator, silicone hoses, starter motor, brake lines, spark plugs, and rotor arm. Judging from the car's HPI data, it may well be amongst the final cars too - after all, production officially ceased in 1999.
Accompanied by a valid MOT until October 2026 and ready and raring to go, this is an aspirational modern classic that's bound to impress its lucky new owner. image.png1.45 MB
