The Appeal
While the Morgan Plus-4 is the more widely recognised name today, there's little doubt that the Plus-8 was responsible for keeping the company relevant in the 70s, 80s and 90s. These cars really caught the zeitgeist perfectly - still affably retro while offering the now-familiar Rover V8. Top notch performance for an ash-framed, aluminium-chassised sports car. For some twenty years (at least) it was credited as being the fastest-accelerating production car in Britain.
This particular example is one of the desirable 'Long Doors', which pulled the dash forward and extending the door jam accordingly, making the car a little easier to clamber into - though opinions are split on whether it truly means more leg-room, or just enjoys a placebo effect. As you'd also expect for the good old Mog, it was eminently customisable and offered an impressive checklist for the lucky buyer, which would be recorded in a photograph album and rather fanfare driven sales invoice.
This 2002 example boasts an impressive Ferrari Corsa Red livery, with Muirhead Shetland Stone leather trimming the comfortable cabin and a remarkably low odometer reading. The V8 Morgans are in wide demand today and offer plenty of fun for the lucky new buyer, and we're sure it'll gather plenty of interest. image.png4.46 MB
