The Appeal
Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman made this bike’s GSA ‘Adventure’ cousin famous, and with good reason. One of the last of the ‘old school’ adventure bikes, the R1150 is a highly regarded, rugged, reliable globe-trotter easily recognised by its ‘beak’ headlight design.
Few, we suspect, are as sparingly used and nicely preserved as this one. It looks like it rolled out of the showroom a few months ago rather than 23 years ago. The yellow paintwork, the decals, the dials and the fittings are all in very good order thanks to the sub-4,000 miles from new.
The vendor acquired the bike in 2023 and has treated it as a collector’s item. Recent work includes brake and clutch fluid changes, and the last MOT in June 2025 contained no advisories. It will be sold with a fresh MOT.
