The Appeal
Here it is, peak bangle-era BMW in the form of the firm’s flagship E66 LWB limousine. Not so much four-wheeled transport as mobile luxury personified, these extremely expensive and highly specified cars incorporate a level of cossetting rarely seen in a car.
This very low-mileage Titan Silver car is reported to have cost the equivalent of £170,000 when it was new in 2004. Until early this year, it was based in Japan, enjoying the nation’s famously high maintenance standards and salt-free roads. The service book shows a run of attention by BMW Japan up to 30,000 miles. It has covered less than 6,000 miles since.
The car is now UK-registered and carries an advisory-free MOT valid to March 2027.
The vendor says:
“Costing over £100,000 when new (over £170,000 in today’s money), the 760Li represented the absolute pinnacle of BMW engineering and luxury"
