The Appeal
There are Defenders and then there is this. Of course, any Defender has the potential to go anywhere, but with this high specification 110 Double Cab you can instantly tell that it definitely will. And will get back safely too.
It was originally built by Land Rover Special Vehicles and initially dedicated to commercial purposes. It has subsequently been modified and upgraded for family use and benefits from over £25,000 of parts and labour investment. Highlights are obvious from the photos but include an external roll cage, roof ladders, improved sound deadening and ‘LOF’ power spec clutch. Long distance, high speed driving is improved thanks to an Ashcroft Transmission differential with longer 5th gear.
The condition is impressive for a 20-year-old workhorse. It is backed by a healthy history file that shows regular servicing with few miles covered since the last work. There are a few minor points to note in the description and photos, but nothing that would seem to prevent this Defender hitting whatever road, track or jungle you fancy traversing. For added reassurance it has current MOT to June 2026 with all advisories resolved.
The vendor says:
“Every journey is an adventure in this Defender. It brings a smile to your face when you drive it. It is set up ready for someone to either put a roof tent on it, or just go and explore places with it. Unfortunately, my kids are no longer interested in it and a change of job means I'm not using it enough. This car has been cared for throughout its life and deserves someone new to use it to its full potential. The small bit of green-laning I've done shows how capable the vehicle is.”
