The Appeal

It can be hard to distinguish between all the Impreza special editions, but the S204 indisputably stands head and shoulders above the rest. It is the ultimate Impreza car and the peak of the original 2.0L twin-scroll turbo engine's development. Just 600 were made available to JDM customers, each featuring hand-balanced engine to deliver smoother power, plus a chassis jointly developed with Yamaha. The S204's suspension is also a highly-engineered, track focused setup designed to maximize handling, stiffness, and control compared to the standard Impreza of its era. An uprated twin-scoll turbo and optimised ECU increased power to 320bhp, compared to the standard car’s 280 bhp. And that's before we mention the carbon-backed seats, a seriously expensive cabin addition and one of the most sought-after Impreza accessories.

This car, number #17, spent its life on Japan’s salt-free roads before arriving in the UK in late 2024. It is in very good condition, remains factory standard, and shows few signs of use. The current keeper, only the car’s first keeper in the UK, bought it soon after in early 2025. Japanese and UK service history supports the low displayed mileage of 81,166 km (50,434 miles). Since arriving in the UK, the car has been maintained by marque specialists like Fairmont and Subaru 4 You, including replacing the timing belt, water pump and pulley at 48,648 miles. The car was serviced again in November 2025, since when it has only covered 1,000 miles. The gear linkages and bushes were replaced in April 2026.
