The Appeal
A fusion of two iconic Italian design houses is something we can wholeheartedly get behind. Both old and new, the Fiat Panda has long been a staple of the automotive world, delivering some of the best small city cars ever made. Over its lifetime, the Panda platform has spawned a number of limited editions, including the ‘Elettra’, ‘Italia 90’, and the ‘Hawaii’—some certainly more eccentric than others.
For those with an appreciation for Italian design, this particular example may be especially appealing. Many will already be familiar with Alessi, the century-old design firm renowned for its stylish kitchenware and home accessories. In 2004, Alessi partnered with Fiat to create the Panda ‘Alessi’—a collaboration aimed at blending automotive function with contemporary design.
The goal was to appeal to a younger, design-conscious audience by offering a fresh and visually distinctive urban car. Available in three colours, this ‘Alessi’ edition stands out most, in our opinion, in ‘Narciso’ Orange. Unique features include white roof bars, a redesigned aerial and gearknob, and striking flat-face hubcaps reminiscent of those found on the Fiat Strada.
Believed to be a world-first example to come to auction, this Panda Alessi presents in remarkable, time-capsule condition. With just 5,500 miles on the odometer, its overall state reflects exceptionally light use. Many surviving examples have become tired over time, often suffering from colour fade or missing trim pieces—making this one all the more special.
Brimming over with charm and character, whether you’re seeking a quirky city runabout or a distinctive addition to a collection, this Panda Alessi is sure to turn heads.
