The Appeal
Equipped with an engine rated by Jeremy Clarkson as one of the greatest of its era, the B7 RS4 was Audi’s concerted attempt to knock the M3 off its perch. Impressive quality, understated styling and 420bhp with a surefooted Quattro drivetrain all make these very credible and rewarding alternatives to the BMW.
This ‘triple black’ B7 is a very tidy, factory standard example that is said to run and drive well. It comes to with 13 stamps in the service book and recent £5,000 of work. That includes a long list of attention to brakes, cooling system, crankshaft and alternator pulley plus a full service. It is said to have covered just 1,500 miles since the service. The current clean MOT reinforces the point.
The joy of the B7 RS4 is that it came standard with a 6spd manual box - the DSG auto was never an option. This very tidy convertible has the condition and recent maintenance to impress.
The vendor says:
“Mechanical condition is really good; spent over £5000 to get it prepped for sale. Starts on the button, idles really smooth and pulls through the gears really nicely with ample of power through the rev range
“Awesome car to drive, super visceral experience due to the V8 manual engine and the roof down giving full theatre.”
