Description
An immaculate R80 G/ S having been totally restored from the ground up, with many new parts. 1500 miles since restoration regrettably for sale.
Also has the clock and rev counter available as optional extras in the original BMW pods.
The bike has the fantastic Wedgetail ignition, which includes ignition controller with the unique digital advance curve program, Hall Effect trigger cylinder, wiring, and hardware. Ignition controller has a single processor. Big punchy spark and easy starts.
This G/ S also has the brilliant Enduralast alternator conversion kit. (With the standard system one can lead to chronic undercharging and battery problems should you wish to fit extra lighting or heated clothing). This kit produces massive 600 watts of power at much lower engine speeds than before. Serious charging starts at 2000 RPM and the maximum output is achieved at 4000 RPM (which was the onset of actual battery charging in the original system!).
The kit contains a replacement rotor, stator windings, diode board, connecting wires, all professionally installed by one of the UK's leading Airhead restorers.

This bike is wonderful!I have two R80 G/ S and this one that is for sale is currently sitting proudly in Cardiff BMW Motorrad showroom.
The other G/ S I have in my garage at home which I'll never sell.
The bike for sale is perhaps the better of the two!
