Description
5 previous owners. Engine rebuild in 2002 at 54, 000 miles by owner 3 who sold the car in 2016. Owner 4 fitted upgraded front brakes and discs plus electronic ignition in 2016. He also fitted new soft top with new frame and reconditioned steering rack in 2017.
I bought the car in 2019 and have done the following work:
New OEM front suspension bushes, Reconditioned Brake Servo, New, top quality interior carpets including boot. Custom made plywood boot floor, 5 new Michelin tyres - tubed to fit wire wheels, new OEM fuel pump, front and rear OEM suspension springs and dampers. New water pump, new spark plugs and HT leads, new battery. DAB+ radio with Bluetooth and mic for hands free mobile phone use. Spare wheel in boot is original style.
Car has been fitted with a modified coolant header tank to eliminate air locks and has thermostatic controlled electric fan in addition to standard engine driven fan. Stainless steel exhaust, factory hardtop in good condition with moveable storage stand. I also have a Tonneau cover which is not in great condition, I've never used it.
There is loads of history from owner 3 onwards. I get the car MOT'd each year even though it is exempt.
This is not a concours car but a very usable classic. Easy and fun to drive, turns lots of heads and gets nice comments from many people. Close inspection will reveal some blemishes in the paint work which has never bothered me. The car looks the same now as it did when I bought it (apart from the wire wheels). There are some oil leaks underneath but nothing worrying.
Genuine, reluctant sale. I was using regularly, not many miles but my situation has changed and I can't see me using the car enough in the future. No silly offers please.
