The appeal

The DB6 represented the culmination of the David Brown-era Aston Martin six-cylinder models, designed by Touring: longer, more refined and more aerodynamically efficient than the DB5, whilst retaining the legendary 4.0-litre twin-cam straight-six engine. With its redesigned rear, Kamm tail and genuine four-seater cabin, it marked the transition from sports car to grand tourer and remains one of the most elegant and practical Astons of its generation. Only 1,327 were built, and the model’s significance in the brand’s history is beyond doubt.

This particular Mk1, chassis DB6/3209/R, left the Newport Pagnell factory in November 1967 as a right-hand drive model fitted with a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox, finished in Platinum White with a Dark Blue Connolly leather interior: a combination it still retains today. Crucially, it has been confirmed as having its original numbers and colours, which lends it considerable authenticity. Having had only four owners since new, the car remained in England until the mid-2010s before being imported into France, where it is now registered as a classic car.
