The Appeal
Lugging loads and carrying pets really should not be this much fun. The E30 Touring, particularly when equipped with this car’s 2.5L M20 straight six and manual box, is about as entertaining as any analogue classic estate car has any right to be.
With only 80,000 miles from new and factory-supplied in plush ‘SE’ trim with sunroof, lattice alloys and full beige leather, this is a very tidy and nicely specified example of these perennially-loved wagons. The car is fitted with a 318is lip spoiler, BBS wheels, and OEM mudflaps. A few cosmetic points remain, but since the vendor acquired the car in 2025, he has comprehensively improved the mechanicals, leaving the buyer to elevate the rest if they wish.
The work has included the suspension, brakes, clutch, drivetrain, cooling system, and fuel system, including a new petrol tank and pump. Bilstein dampers, new springs, and fresh bushes have sharpened the suspension. The timing belt and water pump have also been replaced. The vendor reports that the car now drives and handles well.
With a current advisory-free MOT to August 2027, this E30 is ready to enjoy.
The vendor says:
“Nice early 325i SE Touring with good miles and nice spec, great colour combination along with its subtle feature of the from 318is lip, bbs wheels and OEM mudflaps. Drives very well and gives that lovely 6-cylinder rumble from the exhaust when cruising.”
