The Appeal
While the V12 sounds more impressive on paper, the XJS truly flourished in later six-cylinder guise. The lightweight, aluminium DOHC AJ6 was a fitting successor to the long-lived XK engine. Offering similar power to its V12 counterpart while being drastically lighter, thus improving handling. It was much more economical, too, while still delivering smoothness, refinement, and torque in spades.
This early facelift XJS, with its refined 4.0-litre AJ6 engine is among the most desirable iterations of Jaguar's long-lived grand tourer.
