The Appeal
Few cars embody the idea of the traditional American performance car quite like the Dodge Viper. Conceived as a modern reinterpretation of the classic big-engined roadster, the Viper was simple in concept, dramatic in execution and deliberately light on unnecessary refinement. From the outset, it stood apart from the increasingly polished performance cars being produced elsewhere, offering huge displacement, rear-wheel drive and an unapologetically physical driving experience.
Introduced for 2003, the third-generation SRT-10 brought the Viper into a sharper and more modern era while retaining that essential character. At its heart is an extraordinary 8.3-litre naturally aspirated V10 producing 505bhp and 525lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. Contemporary figures put 0-60mph at around four seconds and top speed close to 190mph, but numbers only tell part of the story. The enormous bonnet, open cockpit, manual transmission, wide stance and thundering V10 provide a level of mechanical theatre few European rivals could match. It remains every inch the American super-roadster.
More than two decades later, that formula arguably makes the SRT-10 even more compelling. There are no turbochargers, hybrid systems or layers of electronic intervention separating the driver from the experience , just a huge naturally aspirated engine, a manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. Finished in Viper Red with contrasting matte black stripes, this example has enormous road presence. Muscular, visceral and refreshingly analogue, it offers a very different flavour of modern-classic performance car ownership.
And this particular Viper has another important distinction. Rather than being a later US-market grey import, it is a rare European-market example, one of just 188 SRT-10s officially supplied through Chrysler Deutschland. It retains the characteristic German-market equipment, its original German-language Dodge handbook and service documentation, and has an extensive documented European history.
With just 40,695 km (approximately 25,300 miles) supported by a chronological inspection and service record stretching back to 2006, it combines the theatre of a Viper with the provenance increasingly sought by collectors. For an enthusiast looking for something more extrovert than the usual German or Italian alternatives, and increasingly difficult to replicate in a modern performance car, this SRT-10 Roadster has obvious appeal.

The vendor adds:
The Viper’s history file is one of its strongest attributes. The original German-language 2004 Dodge Viper SRT-10 handbook and service book remain with the car and contain historic workshop stamps, including an early Chrysler/Jeep entry and subsequent specialist servicing. By April 2006 the Viper had moved to Sweden, where it remained for much of its life. A substantial collection of official Swedish roadworthiness records provides a remarkably consistent kilometre history:

By April 2006 the Viper had moved to Sweden, where it remained for much of its life. A substantial collection of official Swedish roadworthiness records provides a remarkably consistent kilometre history:
* 2006 - 9,950 km
* 2007 - 15,070 km
* 2009 - 18,578 km
* 2011 - 23,294 km
* 2012 - 25,938 km
* 2013 - 27,435 km
* 2014 - 27,772 km
* 2015 - 28,711 km
* 2016 - 29,970 km
* 2017 - 30,556 km
* 2019 - 31,226 km
* 2021 - 32,392 km
* 2021 - 33,163 km (service invoice)
* 2022 - 33,430 km
* 2023 - 33,650 km (Swedish sale/export documentation)
* 2024 - 39,903 km (Irish NCT)
* Current - 40,695 km
This provides considerably more reassurance than simply relying upon the current odometer reading: the car’s relatively low use can be followed through official records over almost two decades.
The service history is supported by the original service book and specialist invoices. These include documentation from JKR Racing & Performance, together with a 2021 service invoice at 33,163 km.
In June 2023 the Viper was purchased from Swedish dealer Oscarssons Bil AB by the current owner and exported to Ireland, where it became part of a private American car collection.
Its Irish NCT in May 2024 recorded 39,903 km and a pass with no advisories.
The car has covered very little mileage since and is stored in a climate-controlled garage when not in use.
