The Appeal
After squeezing a 450bhp twin turbo V8 beneath the bonnet of its subtle C5 load lugger, you might have expected Audi’s engineers to consider the art of the super estate to be ‘job done.’ Not so, as the arrival of the C6 quickly proved. Now fitted with a brutal 5L V10, the new car put an astonishing 572bhp through its Quattro system.
These later cars are about as subtle and supercar-chasing as any estate has a right to be. This very tidy 2008 car proves it, finished in the go-to colour Sepang Blue metallic. The vendor bought it in 2018 and says he has covered 50,000 fuss-free miles in it. The maintenance has been entrusted to RS gurus RC Tuning and REPerformance. In 2023, over £11,000 was invested at RC Tuning. That work included replacing injectors and manifold gaskets, removing the engine and gearbox to attend to leaks, replacing the main radiator and recharging the DRC system. We’re told that it has been regularly serviced since purchase, with the last work in 2025 around 6,000 miles ago. The current MOT reinforces the sense of a properly sorted car - it runs to January 2027 with no advisories.
Cosmetically, the car presents extremely well. Bearing in mind it is now 18 years old, it wears its age and mileage lightly. Inevitably, there are a few points to note, picked up below, but they are hardly significant. The vendor states the interior presents in very good order and describes the car as feeling like new to drive, with no rattles or bumps.
The vendor says:
“Excellent example of this brute of a car in Sepang Blue. The ONLY colour worth having this car in. No modifications, 572bhp is more than my ability. Genuinely feels like a new car to drive , no rattles or bumps. German quality at its best.”
