Description
On offer here is a 2001 Citroen Berlingo Multispace Forte, a 1. 6i petrol version.
It has been my brother's car since May 2018. I sourced it for him as a main dealer part exchange from a Vauxhall main dealer in Bristol. The previous owner was a florist who took very good care of it.
My brother bought it on 138, 000 miles and it has now covered just over 166, 000 miles. The last recorded cambelt change was in January 2018 when a full cambelt kit was fitted. The current MOT runs until August 16th this year. It has been a totally reliable car for my brother requiring only consumable items such as tyres etc. Due to changes in his work he decided that he wants a van so I have found him a 2010 Fiat Fiorino.
There does not appear to have been much deterioration in the last 5 years, the bodywork is exceptionally good with only minor marks/ dents and an area of lacquer peel above the offside sliding door that was there 5 years ago but has not got worse. However the main issue is 3rd gear synchro is now worn and will crunch on quicker gear changes, it has been like this for a couple of years and does not stop the car from being used..
Apart from the synchro this car drives very well and still feels tight on the road. The ride quality is still sublime and puts all the luxury cars that I have owned to shame in this regard! The interior is in superb order and is all complete, the original mats are still present. The seats don't sag although the fronts could do with a shampooing. All warning lights go out on start up and stay out and there are 2 keys present. An electric tow bar is fitted although there is no ball attached, my brother has never used it.
In total it has had 8 owners and is HPI clear.
I am offering it as a useable rolling restoration for the following reasons:
1) The 3rd gear synchro
2) The passenger electric window probably needs a regulator
3) The rev counter stopped working some time ago
4) The aforementioned lacquer peel
5) MOT is getting short
The specification includes ABS, PAS, electric windows, central locking, electric passenger mirror and more.
This is a great chance to acquire a pre facelift mk1 Berlingo Multispace that is in good overall condition but now requires some work to bring back up to standard.
