1958 Ford Ranchero 272 V8 fitted with a modified 5-speed floor change manual gearbox. Finished in original two-tone Seaspray Green and Frost white with Green and White Textured and Whipcord Embossed Vinyl bench seats with matching carpeting, interior and dash and period white-wall tyres.
In 1957 Ford came up with the idea of producing a vehicle that you could take pigs to market on a weekday yet drive to church on Sunday. Unlike other truck based pickups Ford based the Ranchero on their full-sized station wagon platform to give car-like drivability and comfort.
This ex-California car has undergone a professional repaint in 2017 in its original factory colours and presents in lovely overall condition.
A striking car and you can see the styling inspiration in the 4 headlamp configuration that Ford took from their Thunderbird range at the time. A perfect classic for those trips out to local shows and country days out.
We have just had the 272 engine fully rebuilt using a complete rebuild kit from the States and is currently awaiting final preparation-more details to follow.
