Datsun 240z East African Safari Rally car
This superb replica example is finished in the works safari team livery. Fresh from a major recommissioning by the Z FARM in late 2017.
Presented in historic classic safari spec, the car is fitted with a number of modifications replicating the original cars, as well as many unique, desirable and essential modifications. The car can easily be reverted for use in the next historic rally stage events for regularity marathon events. Comes with FIA/ MSA rally log book.
Originally restored, built and raced in the 90's by Marque specialists the Z FARM for historic rally stage events. In 2002 the car was sold to a client who commissioned the Z FARM to convert the car from ground up restoration for the gruelling endurance of the East African classic rally. The car competed in the safari classic in 2003, 2005 and 2007, being recommissioned after each race and then sold.
The car has much provenance, due to its racing history dossier with magazine write ups to grace any car collection having followed the footsteps of the works Datsun 240z rally cars.
BODY SHELL
Seam welded fully strengthened and reinforced, having double skin chassis legs, floors and reinforced all round suspension turrets, including front cross member. Full safety devises roll cage and Perspex Windows, competion spec wiring loom, functional works style jacking points and rear bumper standing points with handle grip mounts on the rear quarters and spot light brackets. Custom built spares compartments and frame work to house two spare tyres in the rear.
SUSPENSION
Pro flex rally suspension, aero quip pipes, hydraulic handbrake, adjustable brake balancer, 4 pot callipers all round, R200 limited slip diff, quick ratio steering rack, heavy duty shafts and sway bars, sump guard, fuel tank guard and full underside aluminium guards.
ENGINE BOX
2. 6 litre engine with triple webbers, oil cooler, solid baffled sump, triple core rad with twin cooling fans. Upgraded 280 box and competion clutch.
FUEL TANK
Alloy fuel tank, 120 litre, twin electric pumps.
TYRES
New rally tyres on 15 X 6 mini lite wheels plus 2 spares and jack.
OTHERS
Competition exhaust, carello spot lights, trip meter navigation unit, cobra seats with full safety harness. Comes with 4 spare minilite wheels and Safari type rally bonnet with lights fitted.
Built by one of the best preparers in the business. The Z FARM have built more historic rally 240z's than any other company in the UK. This car would cost over twice the asking price to be replicated today.
