Mini Clubman – Restored/ Fastidiously Maintained
The “Mini” is a British icon from the 1960’s with Alec Issigonis space cheating design and legendary road holding – the car really did bend the rules and straighten the bends!
Registered on 20th June 1979 our 1098cc clubman was the subject of a bare metal restoration 10 years ago and has only been used sparingly in dry weather since.
The Java Green body work is outstanding with no evidence of corrosion and is body colour underneath with no ugly underseal to hide corrosion or poor repair work. Under the bonnet the engine bay is again body colour and detailed to a high standard. The bright work is as good as the paint and the period (10 inch) Dunlop alloy wheels, in our view, set the car off perfectly.
The interior does not disappoint with replacement carpets, excellent roof lining, lovely original seat covers and, when you lift the carpets, the car floor and sills are (again) finished in original Java Green…. just how we all like our cars.
This Clubman drives as good and she looks with brisk acceleration, pin sharp steering and excellent brakes. The history folder contains old invoices, original handbook + recall letter plus old MOT’s back to 1990 indicating just 13, 000 miles covered in the last 28 years. The displayed mileage is just 31, 500 and we believe this is likely to be correct based on the condition and performance of the car.
Mini’s really do not come much better and with all the hard work (and expenditure) completed this superb example is ready to be used and enjoyed by the lucky new owners
