Here for sale we have this lovely Series 3, in popular Limestone colour in soft top configuration. To the exterior, there are lots of nice features such as front lamp guards, rear grab handles, reversing light, larger defender mirrors to aid visibility, towbar and electrics and correct period plastic badge denoting it to be a late Series 3. Due to the previous restoration, the paintwork in the main has been left as it would've been, and this is quite nice to see - you have a restored vehicle with a Galvanised Chassis, yet a pleasing period patina to the bodywork. You can see in the photos the paint thinning on the bonnet from over 30 years of hands lifting it! 750 tyres are fitted to aid with gearing and give a more relaxed cruise.
The interior is largely standard, with three deluxe seats to the front with deluxe matting to the footwells, and an unfitted rear which houses the spare and a rear load mat. If desired, bench seats can be added to the rear to increase seating capacity to seven occupants.
Out on the road, the larger tyres and weber carb give a pleasing period driving experience and a more relaxed cruise. Many recent parts have been fitted which perhaps aid this experience, such as road springs, water pump, alternator, radiator, brakes, exhaust, shock absorbers and prop shaft. It goes and stops just as it should.
In summary then, if you are looking for a professionally rebuilt Series 3 with a pleasing patina yet solid beneath in popular colour and configuration then this is worth a look. It should prove to be a sound investment for the future whilst still being fun to own and enjoy.
